What is an Otoplasty?
Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is a surgical procedure carried out to change the size, shape and / or position of the ears in patients with cosmetic objectives, due to congenital defects or reconstructive needs. It is also possible to repair lobes deformations caused by earrings or trauma.
Otoplasty can generally be performed at any age, as long as the patient's ears have reached their final size (this usually occurs at 6 years old). The surgery consists of the remodeling of the cartilage and the other tissues according to the specific needs of each patient.
